This past weekend’s Sunday New York Times Magazine featured a cover story on The Power of Green by Thomas Friedman. I’ve always been facinated in listening to him, although I don’t always buy his premise. But I was pleased to see him mention GE Transportation and the new locomotives they make at the Erie plant in Lawrence Park. He is quoting John Dineen in saying that GE can beat China and India by making both fuel efficient and emissions-efficient engines. Friedman’s final premise is that by the power of our innovation in green technology, we can regain manufacturing power and beat the global market.
Here is the story, the Erie part starts on page 10 (free registration required)
